The Disruption Cometh

The Washington Post’s Uber article is such a mind-blowing story I can hardly sit down.

After just five years, Uber can now deliver a ride to over 43% of Americans within five minutes. AND… The median salary for an UberX driver in NYC is over $90k, compared to $30k for a cab driver.

Every single business that relies on a middle man or regulatory agency as a barrier to entry or pricing protection needs to take notice.

Digital disruption does not respect established boundaries.

Over the next 5 years, we’re going to witness an all-out assault on any category or industry where imbalance exists between supply and demand (or between service expectations and service reality). AirBNB, Uber and TaskRabbit are just the beginning.

What a great time to be alive.
