At GoKart, we strive to bring the best ideas, products and solutions to life.The Big Knowis innovation personified—an exciting, unique online learning experience powered by the biggest brains of the world’s best brands. Driven to create, our team singlehandedly invented, launched and grew The Big Know, quickly transforming it from a good idea into a great business.

The Big Know was born out of the convergence of two massive trends.

First, the incredible growth of massively open online courses. Consumers love inexpensive courses taught by top experts from medallion universities.

Second, the shift toward content marketing. Marketers are now spending nearly $40 billion on content. Their biggest challenge? Creating truly engaging content with sustainable value.

To get smart about the world of online education, we hired a researcher and journalist to complete a thorough investigation and analysis of all available research on MOOCs and to interview a spectrum of experts in the field. Then we sought feedback, critique and insight from top leaders of Fortune 500 companies to gauge market interest and ultimate product viability.

Our research confirmed that education works best when people love the experience. To create a platform that would teach, engage, and inspire diverse audiences, we recruited several top online education experts. With their help, we began building a business plan and platform for our Minimum Viable Product.

LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY

After gathering extensive user feedback, implementing real-world testing, and making final refinements, we launched The Big Know. A rapid success, The Big Know subsequently raised $3 million in Series A funding from LFE Capital and is now a fast-growing, standalone company with notable clients including UnitedHealthcare, AARP’s Life Reimagined, Cambria, and Dan Buettner of the Blue Zones Group.
